Wolves Updates 7/31

From Charley Walters/Pioneer Press:
There's whispering that Kevin Garnett already has chatted about the possibility of a jersey number switch from his No. 21 with the Timberwolves to either No. 5 or 45 with the Boston Celtics.

From the Blazer's Mike Barrett:
Just as the league was preparing to unveil the 2007-08 schedule Tuesday morning, the presses were stopped, and the teams were told to hang on a minute. The sole reason for this delay? Of course, the Kevin Garnett trade to Boston.

In an effort to demonstrate "how badly" Ricky Davis and Mark Blount need to be gone, Stephen Litel posts an interview with Davis and describes a late season encounter with a player he now identifies as Blount. The player enters the locker room before a game and responds to Litel's greetings by saying:
“Yeah, I’m loose and feeling good. I mean, what do I have to worry about? When’s the last time I had to work. I’ve never worked a day in my life.”

Miss Gossip has some great limericks about the possible trade for Garnett.

The Star Tribune has a timeline of Garnett's NBA career.

Bob Young/Arizona Republic on why Suns fans should be celebrating:
That's because if the Suns weren't going to get him, they sure didn't want him falling into the hands of the Lakers, Warriors or - heaven forbid - Dallas Mavericks.

Our spies tell us that was exactly what the Suns were worried about, and Dallas was a much bigger concern than anybody realized.
