Wolves Updates 1/15

Rick Alonzo/The Pioneer Press on reaction to his report on Marko Jaric asking for a trade:
On Sunday, Wolves coach Dwane Casey and vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale downplayed the Jaric news, and Jaric wasn't available for comment after practice. McHale said he wouldn't discuss whether the Wolves are close to trading Jaric out of respect for the player's privacy.

Sid Hartman on Griffin:
There is little chance Eddie Griffin will wear a Wolves uniform again once his five-game suspension from the NBA is over. The Wolves have given him so many chances that they are likely to buy him out and forget about him.

Hartman also notes that McHale is "confident" that Chris Webber will end up in Detroit.

Britt Robson/City Pages looks at this past weekend's wins. Robson says that the team had its best first quarter of the season on Friday night, and their best 4th quarter this season on Saturday night.

KG on the team:
"I think we're playing well right now, probably not to our full potential, but we're consistent with what we're doing and we're winning games with our defense right now, which is a good thing," he said.

A preview of this afternoon's game at Detroit. Marko Jaric won't be playing as he's "waiting for his sprained right thumb to heal to the point that it can't easily be injured again."
